Navigating the Platform

A walkthrough of the main interface — the dashboard, module switcher, global search, and notification centre.

The Main Layout

The BlueRockTEL interface has three persistent elements:

  • Top navigation bar — logo, module switcher, global search, notifications, and your user menu
  • Left sidebar — context-sensitive navigation within the current module
  • Main content area — tables, forms, dashboards, and detail views

The Dashboard

The dashboard is the first screen you see after login. It displays a configurable overview of your key metrics:

  • Open tickets (Helpdesk)
  • Invoices due this week (Billing)
  • Active installations (Deployments)
  • Pipeline value (CRM)

Each widget links to the corresponding module. You can reorder and hide widgets from Settings → Dashboard.

The Module Switcher

Click the grid icon (⊞) in the top-left to open the module switcher. This lists all modules your account has access to. Click any module to navigate to its home screen.

Keyboard shortcut: G then the first letter of the module name (e.g. G then B for Billing).

Global Search

Press / anywhere in the application to open global search. You can search across:

  • Customers and contacts
  • Invoices (by number or amount)
  • Tickets (by subject or reference)
  • Projects

Results are grouped by type. Press Enter to open the first result, or use arrow keys to navigate.

Notifications

The bell icon (🔔) in the top navigation shows unread notifications. Notifications are generated for:

  • SLA breaches in Helpdesk
  • Failed payment collections in Debt Recovery
  • Project milestones in Deployments
  • New tickets assigned to you

You can configure which events trigger notifications in Settings → Notifications.
